Multan Customs attaches property of M/s Gulistan Textile Mills

MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs recovery branch has issued warrants to attach property of M/s Gulistan Textile Mills Ltd. for the payment of their outstanding dues worth Rs940.750 million.

Sources told Customs Today that the Collectorate has started crackdown against defaulters for recovery of the outstanding government dues on the directions of Collector Ambreen Ahmad Tarar.

The Multan Customs recovery branch has issued its “warrants of attachment” against the importer in this regard by appointing attachment officer. Assistant Collector Omer Bin Zafar Chatha has appointed Superintendent Muhammad Yousaf Balouch as an attachment officer for collection of duty and taxes from said defaulters.

Attachment officer Muhammad Yousaf Balouch has been given special directives to attach the moveable and immovable properties belonging to the defaulter for recovery of government taxes in terms of rule 133 and 151 of the Customs Rule 2001 with Section 202 of the Customs Act 1969.

M/s Gulistan Textile Mills Limited is located on Bahawalpur, Karachi Morr, Samasatta district Bahawalpur. It is also pertinent to mention here that the Multan Customs recovery branch has issued several notices to defaulters for payment of their outstanding amount but they have not paid yet.

Assistant Collector Multan Omer Bin Zafar Chatha has issued the warrant for the attachment of the property of defaulter M/s Gulistan Textile Mills Limited against the non-payment of outstanding duty taxes. Multan Customs has accelerated the recovery process from defaulters to meet the assigned revenue task of on-going economic year 2018-19.
