Multan Customs barred protocol for all passengers at Multan International Airport

MULTAN: Collector Customs Collectorate Ambreen Ahmad Tarar directed staff of Pakistan Customs deputed at Multan International Airport no to given any VIP protocol to any passenger.

Collector Ambreen Ahmad Tarar has taken decision to give no protocol for passengers at Multan International Airport after a standing order came into force issued by Interior Ministry for implementation.

Collector Tarar directed Assistant Collector Omer Bin Zafar Chatha to strictly implement the decision to provide equal opportunities to all travellers without any discrimination. It was observed that influential people and families of politician used to seek assistance of customs staff, FIA and others accompanied them to promptly clear their baggage.

It is also pertinent to mention here that VIP protocol was usually given to politicians, legislators, senior bureaucrats, judges, military officials and journalists at nationwide airports including Multan. It was also observed that few VIPS were issued special passes for their protocol and all special passes have been cancelled after strict directions of Interior Ministry.

Customs counters will conduct normal scanning of goods and examined the luggage according to standard operating procedure at Multan International Airport and would monitor every luggage.If anyone found responsible in giving any special treatment to anyone at Multan International Airport Collector will take disciplinary action against him and he would be immediately suspended.

Assistant Collector Customs Omer Bin Zafar Chatha will ensure that said directions should be followed at Multan International Airport.
