Multan Customs collects Rs.110.11m revenue

MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement has collected almost Rs110.11 million under the heads of Customs duty, Sales taxes and Income taxes during month of January 2021-22.

Multan Customs has collected almost Rs.93.10 million in wake of Customs duty during the month of January during financial year 2021-22. Multan Customs has collected almost Rs.13.87 million under the head of Sales taxes during month of January in fiscal year 2021-22 and collected almost Rs.1.14 million under the head of Income taxes during January in the financial year 2021-22. In addition to regular/routine collection of duty/taxes, an effective strategy was devised to specially focus on areas to enhance revenue through administrative measures like auction, Anti-smuggling, as well as crediting of seized/confiscated currency into National Bank of Pakistan.

The Collectorate taking solid measures towards expedition of trade and ease of doing customs business, the measures taken on both revenues worked very well and the Collectorate was able to achieve the assigned target in all areas besides trade facilitation.

Several facilitation measures were also undertaken by the Collectorate during third quarter of FY 2021-22 some of which are briefed as the Currency Declaration System (CDS) has been installed at Multan International Airport which is facilitating foreigners. Air Freight Unit (AFU) of Multan International Airport collected almost Rs.66100/- duty taxes collection during month of January 2021-22.
