Multan Customs collects Rs3257.641 million taxes during April

MULTAN: The Customs Collectorate Multan collected Rs3257.641 million during the month of April of fiscal Year 2016-17.

The Collectorate of the Multan Customs has done collection of Rs766.685 million under the head of customs duty against the fixed target throughout April. Likewise Collectorate has collected customs duty (CD) of Rs173.086 million against set target of Rs989.20 million during matching period of April in the previous fiscal year 2015-16.The Customs Collectorate Multan has surpassed the assigned revenue collection task of Customs duty due to effective strategy in the April of the on-going economic year 2016-17. Collectorate has focused their concentration for the collection of customs duty in April to accomplish its assigned mark.

Multan Customs is facing revenue shortfall in the collection of sales taxes, federal excise duty (FED) and Income taxes due to decline in the import clearances of various consignments at Multan Dry Port in the month of April. The Model of Customs Collectorate Multan has poised Rs2472.010 million under the head of Sales taxes against the assigned revenue collection task of Rs.3560 million in the April.

The collection of sales taxes has observed sudden decline due to less import clearances of ex-bonding of High Speed Diesel (HSD) from Multan Collectorate. Multan Customs were able to collect Rs.4076.088 million in the corresponding month of April for economic year 2015-16.The Sales tax collection has been cut down in the last few months due to increase in Clearance of High Speed Diesel (HSD) products from other Collectorates.

The Customs Collectorate Multan has collected federal excise duty (FED) of Rs7.860 million beside Rs.28 million target for the duration of April and Income tax of Rs10.560 million was also collected against set target of Rs17 million in that Period .

The Collectorate has done revenue collection of Rs0.526 million in terms of Additional Sales taxes during month of April. The net Collection of the Multan Collectorate become Rs3257.641 million against Rs4327.78 million for the period of  April.

However, Multan Customs Collectorate is striving hard to achieve the annual target by utilizing all their available resources to attain positive results.
