Multan Customs generates Rs33.807m through taxes during July

MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement has collected Rs33.807 million under the heads of customs duty, sales tax, income tax and Federal Excise Duty during the month of July.       

According to the details, Multan Customs has collected R.23.584 million in wake of customs duty against the assigned collection revenue task of Rs.19 million for the month of July 2023-24.cMultan Customs Collectorate collected almost Rs.16 million in wake of Customs duty during the corresponding period. Multan Customs Collectorate has collected almost Rs.2.388 million under the head of Sales taxes during month of July in fiscal year 2023-24.While Multan Customs collected almost Rs.2.15 million during corresponding period.

Multan Customs has collected almost Rs.5.672 million Income taxes during July in the financial year 2023-23. The Model Customs Collectorate Multan Enforcement has collected Federal Excise Duty of almost Rs.2.163 million during the month of July2023-23.In addition to regular/routine collection of duty/taxes, an effective strategy was devised to specially focus on areas to enhance revenue through administrative measures like auction, Anti-smuggling, as well as crediting of seized/confiscated currency into National Bank of Pakistan.      

Multan Customs Collectorate is taking solid measures towards expedition of trade and ease of doing customs business, the measures taken on both revenues worked very well and the collectorate was able to achieve the assigned target in all areas besides trade facilitation.       

Several facilitation measures were also undertaken by the collectorate during FY 2023-24 some of which are briefed as the Currency Declaration System (CDS) has been installed at Multan International Airport which is facilitating foreigners.
