Multan Customs collects Rs 4.7 billion during first quarter of FY 2016-17

MULTAN: The Model of Customs Collectorate, Multan, has collected Rs 4.7 billion in wake of duty taxes against Rs 1.334 billion during the first quarter of the fiscal year 2016-17.

The Multan Customs is facing a huge shortfall in the collection of revenue taxes assigned by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) after the end of the first quarter of financial year 2016-17.

The department has collected Rs 993.098 million customs duties against the assigned target of Rs 2.118 billion during first quarter of the fiscal year 2016-17.

The Model of Customs Collectorate has generated Rs3.670 billion in wakes of sales taxes against the set target of Rs1.112 billion during the first three months of the economic year 2016-17.

The Collectorate of the Multan Customs has fetched Withholding taxes of Rs56.594 million beside the given revenue target of Rs82 million for the said duration. The department has collected revenue of Rs44.243 million taxes on account of Income taxes against the set target of Rs22 million during the first quarter of the financial year 2016-17.

The Model of Customs Collectorate Multan has observed decline in the revenue collection in the first quarter due to decrease in the import and imports have been reduced due to imposition of Infrastructure development levy.
