Multan Customs completed verification of seized cell phones of M/s QMobile

MULTAN: The Customs Collectorate special committee has completed verification of seized mobile of importer M/s Digicom Trading (Pvt) Ltd QMobiles and finalized their report.

According to details, Multan Customs has constituted a special committee under the supervision of Assistant Collector Omer Bin Zafar Chatha for the reconciliation of all kinds of documentary evidences provided by importer M/s Digicom Trading (Pvt) Ltd regarding seizure case no.129/2017. Special Committee consists of eight persons including Assistant Collector Customs Multan Dry Port Muhammad Ikram who was appointed in-charge of this committee. Seized cell phones IME numbers were verified with Pakistan Telecommunication Authority record along with import record provided by importer during scrutiny.

A source told Customs Today that Multan Customs done verification of 7894 out of 9800 different seized cell phones from Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) about their No Objection Certificate. According to concile report of committee only 3625 cell phones were verified by Pakistan Telecomunication Authority (PTA) from their available data of verification. Multan Customs has asked PTA to verify 1015 cell phones of MAX Mobile and there were 365cell phones of MAX Mobile were issued NOC from Pakistan Telecommunication Authority. While 650 cell phones of MAX Mobiles were not issued any NOC from PTA.

Almost 1452 cell phones were not matched and verified from the WEBOC import data after checking GDs and committee found huge quantity of cell phones mismatched tag during  their scrutiny process.

While other members include Principal Appraiser Multan Customs Dry Port Mehmood Ahmad Khan, Inspector Shahid Nawaz Mirza (Dry Port), Inspector Ghulam Asghar ASO, Inspector Muhammad Azam Sargana ,Upper Division Clerk Shahkar Sadiq and Lower Division Clerk Muhammad Imran Khan also take part in finalizing of comprehensive report .The special constituted team completed the verification of seized cell phones of M/s Digicom Trading (PVT) Ltd in the presence of company’s authorized representative to satisfy them.

M/s Digicom Trading (PVT) Ltd resource person Abdur Rehman was in contact with constituted committee of Collectorate in verification process. Multan Customs has completed verification process and it will be submitted to Customs Adjudication on next hearing of said case.
