Multan Customs confiscates vehicles, goods worth Rs 32.80m in Dec

MULTAN: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation, Multan Office, has seized vehicles and miscellaneous goods worth Rs 32.80 million during the December of Fiscal Year 2014-15.

According to details, the said department has initiated different anti-smuggling operations against smuggled goods and vehicles in the region on the direction of Deputy Director Abdul Mueed Kanjoo.

The department comprised of three different regions of South Punjab including Sadiqabad, Dera Ghazi Khan and Multan Range Office. The department has detected 17 various seizure cases in the month of December during extensive anti-smuggling operations in its territory.

The Field Intelligence Unit of Customs has detected seven seizure cases in Multan, four in Dera Ghazi Khan and seven seizure cases of vehicles in Sadiqabad region during its anti-smuggling actions. The Customs Intelligence has seized five various non-custom paid vehicles and miscellaneous goods worth Rs.14.60 million for the duration of December.

The Customs Intelligence and Investigation, Dera Ghazi Khan Region, has impounded four smuggled vehicles worth Rs.10 million in December during its actions. The Field Intelligence Unit of Sadiqabad has confiscated goods and vehicles worth Rs.8.2 million in its anti-smuggling activities in Sadiqabad location.

The Customs Intelligence and Investigation, Multan Range Office, has seized different items and vehicles worth Rs. 32.80 million involving non-duty taxes of Rs.16.80 million. The same department has forwarded numbers of seizure cases of December to the Customs Adjudication for its legal trial after completing thorough investigations of the seized goods and vehicles.
