MULTAN: Multan Customs camp office Adjudication Collectorate has decided as many as 43 cases worth Rs35.737 million during the month of April.
Deputy Collector Saima Ayyaz decided 32 cases worth Rs15.467 million in April during the proceedings of the cases in the Adjudication Customs. The officer collectively decided 246 seizure cases worth Rs130.957 million throughout the fiscal year of 2014-15. The deputy collector received 38 new cases worth Rs19.375 million during the corresponding month.
As many as 17 cases worth Rs15.729 million are still pending in the Customs Adjudication for final verdict. The deputy collector also finalised a large number of customs duty evasion cases as compared to Additional Collector and Collector in the economic year 2014-15.
Additional Collector Amjad ur Rehman decided 11 cases of customs duty evasion unearthed by the Customs I&I and Anti-Smuggling Organisation in their jurisdictions. The total value of 11 cases, decided by the additional collector, was Rs20.269 million. The officer decided 54 cases of almost Rs109.947 million during the first ten months of the financial year 2014-15.
Additional Collector Fayaz Anwar has preceded the cases before going to his mid-career management training course few months ago and due to his absence Additional Collector Amjad ur Rehman has been given the additional charge of Multan camp office. Almost 12 fresh cases worth Rs20.569 million received for hearing in the month of April. There are almost five cases of Rs8.99 million still pending for decision in the jurisdiction of Additional Collector Amjad ur Rehman.
Collector Adjudication Saleem Ahmad Ranjha decided 11 cases worth Rs96.491 million in the first ten months of the current fiscal year 2014-15. Almost six cases of Rs71.354 million wer decided in the first 10 months of the ongoing FY. There are six cases worth Rs96.491 million available for adjudication in the court of Collector Saleem Ahmad Ranjha. The officer has been promoted as Member tribunal of Federal Board of Revenue.
The total 23 cases worth Rs20.521 million added in the month of April for adjudication which includes five cases of Additional Collector and 18 cases of Deputy Collector.
Customs Adjudication decided 311 different cases worth Rs337.395 million in the first ten months of the fiscal year 2014-15. There are still 36 cases of Rs96.082 million pending in the Customs Adjudication from last 6 months.
