Multan Customs detects network involved in smuggling of HSD

MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has detected a smuggling network of South Punjab which is involved in the smuggling High Speed Diesel (HSD).

Sources told Customs Today that Anti-Smuggling Organization has unearthed a smuggling network involved in smuggling of High Speed Diesel. Multan Customs has seized 5000 litres of HSD in their action few days ago and arrested one smuggler. Anti-Smuggling Organization has raided a warehouse located in Mauza Drahama Dera Ghazi Khan region. The ASO team arrested smuggler in their action who was identified as Muhammad Ramzan son of Maqsood Ahmad.

ASO team found that accused has smuggled huge quantity of High Speed Diesel and after smuggling High Speed Diesel was dumped in a warehouse. Accuse smugglers have built a well for the storage of High Speed Diesel with capacity to store millions of litres and owners of this warehouse transport smuggled High Speed Diesel to different areas of South Punjab.

It was also revealed during initial investigation of Customs that accused was operating a network of smuggling High Speed Diesel and they dumped the High Speed Diesel after smuggling from Iran through Baluchistan routes.

Said accused also mixed this white spirit into other products and formed POL goods. This network was supplying POL products in the whole South Punjab through their different selling agents. Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization has shifted accused in the Multan Customs for further investigation where Investigation and Prosecution branch of Multan Customs Collectorate lodged the FIR against accused Muhammad Ramzan on smuggling charges. Further investigations against the HSD smuggler and its network are still under process.
