MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs recovery branch has issued attachment warrants of defaulter company namely M/s Shujabad Weaving Mills for recovery of outstanding amount of Rs1.588 million.
According to the details, Collectorate has issued several recovery notices to M/S Shujabad Weaving Mills located in Qadirpur Raan for payment of recoverable taxes pending from almost one year. The recovery department of Multan Customs intimated the defaulter company a couple of times to clear the pending and outstanding charges but it remained hesitant to deposit the dues.
Assistant Collector Omer Zafar Bin Chatha appointed Superintendent Muhammad Yousaf Baloch as attachment officer for recovery of outstanding amount. Multan Customs has decided to attach their moveable and immovable properties and bank accounts in order to recover the outstanding dues from defaulter company.
The above said company has cleared consignments from Multan Dry Port at the time of clearance and paid short duty. The Collectorate has issued several notices to the defaulters under sub-section (1) of section 202 of the Customs Act 1969 for the payment of outstanding dues. Upon his failure, the department has finally decided to attach moveable and immovable property of the suspect by appointing an officer for the recovery of dues. Therefore, the Multan Customs has initiated stern action against the company to recover the outstanding dues before the end of economic year 2018-19.
Superintendent Muhammad Yousaf Baloch has been given the task of attachment officer for recovery of outstanding amount under Customs Rules, 2001. The Multan Customs will also attach bank accounts of defaulter for recovery under Section 202 of Customs Act, 1969.
