Multan Customs E&C seizes NDP vehicles & goods worth Rs284.18m during July

MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement & Compliance seized non-customs paid vehicles and miscellaneous goods worth Rs284.18 million during anti-smuggling crackdown in July.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Muneeza Majeed has carried out various crackdowns against smuggled goods. Multan Customs anti-smuggling staff has foiled several attempts of smuggling on the basis of credible information against smuggling.

Multan Customs has enhanced the patrolling of the suspected routes to intercept the non-customs paid (NCP) vehicles. Anti-Smuggling squad of Multan Customs Collectorate has enhanced vigilance on the special directions of Collector to thwart any attempt of smuggling.

The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has focused few crucial routes to intercept any smuggling attempt.

Anti-Smuggling Organization has impounded 12 smuggled vehicles worth Rs24.600 million. The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has seized non-customs duty paid vehicles which includes Toyota Vitz, Honda Civic, Toyota Premio, Toyota Fielder, Toyota Land Cruiser, Toyota Crown, Toyota Hilux Surf and others in their various crackdowns. All impounded vehicles were found non-duty paid and non-tampered during verification.

Anti-Smuggling Organization has detected various seizure cases of betel nuts, fabric cloths, tyres, cigarettes and others of almost worth Rs.260 million during their aggressive crackdowns in the region during July 2020-21.

These impounded vehicles and goods were intercepted from Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Jhang, Sargodha, Mianwali region during crackdown of Anti-Smuggling Organization in the month of July.

The Customs Collectorate Enforcement & Compliance (E& C) has not been assigned any anti-smuggling target so far but Federal Board of Revenue will allocate revenue task very soon.
