Multan Customs foils smuggling bid, seizes auto parts, laptops, tyres

MULTAN: The customs officials have recovered the smuggled auto parts, tyres, laptops, LEDs and used cell phones during the scanning of goods at the Multan International Airport.

As per details, the customs staff has tightened the scrutiny process at the Multan International Airport following the direction to curb money laundering. Officials informed that customs authorities examined the luggage of passengers reached Multan International Airport through private flight from Dubai. During the scanning of goods, customs staff at the airport found 13 passengers’ bags filled with non-duty paid goods.

It is important to mention here that these bags had been off-loaded at Dubai airport due to the excessive weight from the plane and later sent to Multan airport through a connecting flight.

Customs has recovered non-duty paid LEDs, auto parts, laptops, tyres and used mobiles from 13 bags during scanning.

Custom Inspector Shafqat Ali Awan,Kanwar Asif Ali and Muhammad Iqbal have foiled the smuggling bid, while the report in this regard has been sent to deputy collector of customs for further legal action against the accused.
