Multan Customs generates Rs64.45m through auction of confiscated Iranian HSD

MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs generated Rs64.45 million from the auction of confiscated 851000 liters of Iranian origin High Speed Diesel (HSD) that was confiscated during various crackdown of Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) .

According to details, Customs Collectorate hold auction of High Speed Diesel, Mineral Spirit and Hydrocarbons which were seized during various crackdowns of Anti-Smuggling Organization in the jurisdiction.

Multan Customs invited various oil marketing companies operating in Pakistan, Canteen Stores Department (CSD) serving for Pakistan armed forces, Police Headquarters and others for bidding confiscated Petroleum Products.

During the auction 724,000 liters High Speed Diesel (HSD) of Iranian origin was sold out successfully in Rs.55.787 million. The mineral spirit of 65000 litres was sold out in Rs4.900 million after effective bidding. Almost 61500 litres of hydrocarbon mixture was auctioned in 3.805 million after successful bidding from bidders.

The Customs Collectorate sold out overall 851.000 liters of petroleum products here on Monday and these smuggled petroleum products  were seized Anti-Smuggling Organization to curb menace of smuggling of petroleum products by some unscrupulous, unpatriotic members of the public who are determine to enrich themselves illegitimately.

Deputy Collector Saqibur Rehman and Assistant Collector Muhammad Ikram supervised the whole auction process to ensure transparency. The auction was held in the Multan Dry Port near Sher Shah Bypass.
