Multan Customs handles 658 export consignments worth Rs2478 million in Nov

MULTAN: The Model Customs Collectorate handled 658 export consignments through Multan dry port during the month of November.

The dry port witnessed increased in the movement of export consignments during correspondence period. Major export commodities which handled from Multan Dry Port were cotton yarn, Fabrics, leather products, garments, textile made ups and others. The department has swiftly cleared 658 different export consignments of various commodities of worth Rs2478 million during November.  Multan Customs handled 270 various goods declarations (GD,s) worth RS1084.575 million during the same period of previous fiscal year 2015-16.

The export situation at the dry port has been improved due to effective measurements taken by the collectorate for enhancement of export items. The enhancement in the export brings positive impact on the import of the local manufacturers and it will also raise the revenue of the Multan Customs due to collection of Customs duty and others.

Multan Customs has exported 2475 consignments valuing Rs7985.344 million during the first five months of the existing economic year 2016-17 while it was able to cleared only 1470 consignments worth Rs7088.575 million during the fiscal year 2015-16.

The Model of Customs Collectorate Multan has observed 70 % boost in their export due to increase in the production of cotton in the country especially in South Punjab. Multan Customs has swiftly cleared 658 different export consignments of various commodities worth Rs2478 million above mentioned period.
