MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Multan has achieved a remarkable milestone by surpassing the Rs4 billion revenue benchmark during the first eleven months of the ongoing economic year 2023-24.
Under the proactive leadership of Collector Customs Syed Imran Sajjad Bukhari and Additional Collector Shah Faisal Sahu, Collectorate of Customs Enforcement Multan has intensified its crackdown on smuggling activities, targeting illicit trade practices with notable success.
Guided by the strategic direction of Member Customs Ashhad Jawwad and Chief Collector Punjab Rubab Sikandar, the Customs team, led by Deputy Collector Maryam Jameela, has conducted targeted operations aimed at curbing smuggling activities.
Under the adept leadership of Collector Customs Multan, Syed Imran Sajjad Bukhari and Additional Collector Shah Faisal Sahu, the Customs Enforcement has adopted an aggressive approach to combat smuggling activities in the jurisdiction. Special attention has been directed towards apprehending non-duty paid vehicles, which are often utilized in criminal endeavors. These operations have yielded significant seizures of non-customs paid vehicles, counterfeit currency, and various contraband items.
The fiscal year has witnessed a noteworthy surge in enforcement activities, with a remarkable 143% increase in registered cases compared to the previous fiscal year. Moreover, the Collectorate has achieved a commendable 48% rise in revenue collection, highlighting the efficacy of its anti-smuggling measures.
In a significant development, the Collectorate of Customs Enforcement Multan has intercepted smuggled goods and vehicles worth Rs. 4 billion during various operations conducted throughout 2023-24 due to an aggressive enforcement strategy. This notable haul reflects a substantial 143% increase compared to the corresponding period in the previous fiscal year.
The seized items, comprising carrier vehicles, non-duty paid vehicles, betel nuts, food items, cigarettes, mobile phones, and various miscellaneous goods, underscore the persistent challenge posed by illicit trade networks in the region. With a remarkable surge in the number of cases, authorities are intensifying efforts to dismantle smuggling operations and curb unlawful commercial activities. Customs Anti-Smuggling Teams impounded almost 10 non-duty paid vehicles valued at Rs. 57.5 million during their intensive crackdown in the territory.

The achievement of surpassing the Rs. 4 billion revenue milestone underscores the Multan Customs Collectorate’s steadfast resolve to combat smuggling and ensure compliance with customs regulations for a thriving economy.
