Multan Customs impounds NDP vehicle during action

MULTAN: The Collectorate of Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization has impounded suspected vehicle of government department in their action.

According to details, Multan Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization vehicle branch took into possession a Suzuki Jimny jeep on the suspect of smuggling in their action from Sahiwal region. Said Suzuki Jimny jeep bearing registration number of E1217/ Sukkur was moving on the roads of Sahiwal .

The said vehicle was impounded by Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization during a road checking in the Sahiwal city. Said vehicle was being used by government department National Rural Support Programm (NRSP) and they were carrying out their official duty on said vehicle

Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization asked driver of the said vehicle to produce import documents regarding the legal possession but they failed to present any documents. The Anti-Smuggling Organization took Suzuki Jimny into possession on the suspect that it is non-duty-paid vehicle. The value of the said vehicle is almost Rs1.2 million involving customs duty and taxes of Rs650000. Further investigations are still under way.
