Multan Customs impounds non-duty paid vehicle from DG Khan

MULTAN: Customs Intelligence and Investigation has impounded foreign origin smuggled vehicle worth Rs.3 million from Dera Ghazi Khan in their action.

According to details, Customs Intelligence and Investigation received information that foreign origin vehicle will be smuggled through Dera Ghazi Khan Region to Multan. Deputy Director Khial Muhammad Khan formed special teams including Inspector Muhammad Umer, Inspector Sheikh Arshad, Zulfiqar Ali and others to thwart any attempt of smuggling.

Customs Intelligence and Investigation deputed at the suspected routes of the Dera Ghazi Khan region where Field Intelligence Unit of Dera Ghazi Khan enhanced the monitoring to impound smuggled vehicle. Customs Intelligence intercepted the suspected vehicle Toyota Camry bearing registration number: AAQ-614/Quetta of Model 2006. Driver of the said vehicle was asked to produce documents of the vehicle to justify possession of the vehicle. Customs Intelligence seized the vehicle worth Rs3 million involvinging duty taxes of Rs2.5 million.

Field Intelligence Unit of Customs Intelligence seized the smuggled vehicle under section 156(i) 89(i) and 90 of the Customs Act 1969 and shifted the vehicle in the Multan Office. Further investigations were still underway till the filing of this report.
