Multan Customs impounds smuggled Mazda truck

MULTAN: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan Range has impounded a smuggled Mazda vehicle from Multan city.

According to details, Customs Intelligence and Investigation team has captured the smuggled Mazda vehicle during patrolling in the city. The Mazda truck was impounded on Khanewal Road near the office of the Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation.

During the normal inspection of the Mazda truck, the owner of the vehicle failed to provide proper documents of the vehicle. The Mazda truck was bearing the registration number LES-2651 model 1978.

Senior Intelligence officer Amjad Pervaiz, Saleem Afzal and constable Zulfiqar  impounded the Mazda truck during the operation.

The value of the truck was around Rs 1 million and its customs duty was almost Rs 300,000. The Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan has impounded the Mazda  truck under Section 157 (2) of the Customs Act, 1969.
