Multan Customs detains two trucks loaded with scrap near Sakhi Sarwar

MULTAN: Customs anti-smuggling squad intercepted two trucks loaded with scrap, ball bearings, engines and auto parts during a joint anti-smuggling activity.

According to details, Customs Intelligence and Investigation and Anti-Smuggling Organization conducted anti-smuggling operation against two suspected trucks which were coming from Balochistan. Following the directives of Collector Sarfraz Ahmad Warraich and Deputy Director Naveed Ur Rehman Bughvi, special teams of Customs Dera Ghazi Khan Field Intelligence Unit (FIU) and anti smuggling squad were deployed to foil the smuggling bid.

Customs teams have captured the loaded trucks near of Sakhi Sarwar in coordinated efforts. The trucks were fully loaded with huge quantity of iron scrap , ball bearings ,engines ,auto parts of the various vehicles. Customs teams have taken both suspected trucks in their custody and asked importer to submit import documents of the said goods.

The value of the detained goods by Customs teams in a joint action is more than Rs.5 million and Customs have shifted both trucks in the Customs office for the thorough examination of the loaded goods.

Customs will decided to seize detain goods after the verification of loaded goods and further investigation is still under process.
