Multan Customs Intelligence earns Rs 16m through auction

MULTAN: The Customs Investigation and Intelligence Multan has earned over Rs 16 million through auction of confiscated vehicles and articles.

Customs Intelligence offered eight vehicles at auction held at the Customs Intelligence office.

The vehicles include Toyota Corolla, Toyota Corolla X, Toyota Hiace (Super GL), BMW, Toyota Vitz, Toyota Raum and Toyota Daihatsu car. Vehicles offered in the auction were major part of attraction for the public in open sale.

In auction, BMW received highest price to Rs 1.575 million, while the customs generated Rs 7.820 million by auctioning all eight vehicles.

Besides, Rs 5.012 million was earned through auction of Indian origin art silk cloth, Rs 830,000 by selling 52 drum of diesel and 8200 litres of motor oil. The auto parts including crank HTV, block HTV and were sold at Rs 340,000.

24,000 new ball bearings of different sizes and 317 rims for light vehicles were auctioned against Rs 3.15 million, while the 9400 litres of furnace oil attracted a bid of Rs 130,000.

On the other hand, two lots of Indian origin cloth seized by Customs Intelligence, were not presented for auction due the stay order from the court, while the two items including foreign origin bitumen and car cigarette lighters could not received suitable bids.

Meanwhile, Customs Intelligence has also generated Rs 8.344 million through auction of miscellaneous items.

Additional Director Customs Intelligence, Nisar Ahmad supervised the auction of confiscated vehicles and miscellaneous goods along with Superintendent Fareed ud Din Masood.
