Multan Customs Intelligence impounds two vehicles worth Rs 3m

MULTAN: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation, Multan, has impounded two non-duty paid vehicles worth Rs 3 million during two successful raids.

According to details, the customs intelligence intercepted two foreign origin vehicles from Sakhi Sarwar in Dera Ghazi Khan Region. Senior Intelligence Officer Adnan Chandiyaa led the operation against the non-customs paid vehicles and impounded Toyota Premio registration number UD -816 / Islamabad and Toyota Fielder with registration number QTA/957.

The team asked the vehicles drivers to present their original documents to prove their legal possession of said vehicles but they remained failed to provide any original document.

Therefore the customs intelligence team impounded the vehicles under section 2(s) of the Customs Act, 1969 168 which is liable to confiscation under section 156(1) ibid read with SRO 499(I)/2009. The non-customs paid car was shifted in the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan Range Office.
