MULTAN: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan has apprehended 22 pieces of smuggled tyres from the Khanewal Road in an action.
The Customs Intelligence and Investigation of Multan Range intercepted a goods carrier vehicle and conduct search to find smuggled item if any.
The team of intelligence recovered 22 pieces of heavy vehicles’ tyres during search and asked the driver to produce the import document of the tyres but he had failed to do so.
Therefore, Customs Intelligence following the customs law seized the smuggled items worth Rs 1.2 million, while further investigation is underway in this regard.
While the officials of customs said that no one to be allowed to smuggle items through this region, adding that noose was being tightening overtime on the smugglers to curb the menace of smuggling.
