Multan Customs Intelligence seizes 4300 drums of hydrocarbon solvent

MULTAN: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation has recovered huge quantity of illicit hydrocarbon solvent in an action.

According to the details, Customs Intelligence received credible information about foreign origin hydrocarbon solvent on which Deputy Director Naveed ur Rehman directed field intelligence unit to conduct raid.

The officials raided a warehouse located in the industrial area of Multan and recovered 4300 drum of the illicit solvent, which were confiscated.

The officials found 97 empty drums from warehouse of during their raid. Sources told Customs Today that the Customs Intelligence was trying to identify the culprits.

The usage of hydrocarbon solvent is restricted in the industries due to its high toxicity but it was still being consumed in the cleaning and dissolving process.

The Customs Intelligence also decided to examine the seized hydrocarbon solvent to determine its exact ingredients for further action.
