Multan Customs Intelligence seizes rice processing machinery worth Rs3m

MULTAN: Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan Range Office seized rice processing machinery of worth Rs3 million in their anti-smuggling action.

According to the details, Customs Intelligence and Investigation received credible information from their source that foreign origin machinery will be transported through Multan area. Deputy Director Abdul Mueed Kanjoo formed special team which includes Superintendent Fareed ud Din Masood , Inspector Umer , Inspector Sheikh Muhammad Arshad ,Muhammad Zulfiqar and others to thwart any attempt of smuggling.

Field Intelligence Unit of Customs Intelligence Multan has enhanced the monitoring of the region after receiving information from their source. Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan Range Office team intercepted the suspected troller loaded with different industrial equipments near Sher Shah toll Plaza .

Customs Intelligence found various equipments including cleaning equipment, grain cleaner, rice huller, brown rice separator m emery roll rice mill, series rice, rice polishing machine, medium speed bucket elevator and others from loader vehicle during their action. Customs teams asked the driver to produce the import documents of the said machinery .During initial interrogation from driver, Customs teams find that loaded goods were destined to Gujrawala from Quetta.

The driver of the trolley failed to produce any documents of the imported rice processing machinery during their examination. Customs Intelligence and Investigation teams took all loaded rice processing machinery goods in their custody  for further investigation and seized all recovered goods on smuggling.

The value of the loaded rice processing machinery was almost Rs.3 million and the value of Hino trolley used in transportation of machinery was almost Rs.5 million.
