Tax evasion: Multan Customs issues attachment warrant against M/s Jahan Khan & Sons

MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement & Compliance (E&C) recovery branch has issued attachment warrant against M/s Jahan Khan & Sons for recovery of outstanding amount of Rs500,000/-.

According to details, M/s Jahan Khan & Sons has imported raw material for manufacturing of  goods and submitted Rs500,000/- by paying less duty taxes during clearance of their import consignments from Multan Dry Port. The Collectorate has asked several times to said importer for the payment of remaining duty taxes.

But said importer has not paid any remaining tax amount to Multan Customs Collectorate recovery branch.

Now Multan Customs has attached their bank accounts and immoveable properties to recover outstanding taxes. Multan Customs has started crackdown against defaulters for the recovery of their outstanding amount from defaulter after serving final notice but said company has not responded to Customs notice.

Multan Customs Enforcement & Compliance has issued recovery notice once again for payment of outstanding taxes to M/s. Jahan Khan & Sons. Said importer was using delaying tactics for depositing of them owes duty taxes from last few months. Therefore, Multan Customs has initiated stern action against the company to recover the outstanding dues from said company.

Superintendent Habib-ur-Rehman has been appointed attachment officer for recovery of outstanding amount under Customs Rules, 2001. Collectorate of Customs Enforcement & Compliance will also attach bank accounts and properties of defaulter for recovery under Section 202 of Customs Act, 1969. Said defaulter has been directed to pay the government dues within 15 days of this notice to avoid any unwanted situation.
