Multan Customs issues notice to M/s Carolina Fabrics Pvt Ltd to pay Rs37.086m

MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs recovery branch has issued recovery notice to M/s Carolina Fabrics Pvt Ltd. for the payment of their outstanding dues worth Rs37.086 million.

Sources told Customs Today that the Collectorate has started crackdown against defaulters for recovery of the outstanding government dues to meet assigned revenue task for the economic year 2018-19 on the directions of Collector Ambreen Ahmad Tarar.

The Multan Customs recovery branch has issued recovery notice against the defaulter by appointing recovery officer Assistant Collector Omer Bin Zafar Chatha. He appointed Superintendent Muhammad Yousaf Baloch as an attachment officer for collection of duty and taxes from said defaulters. Recovery officer Muhammad Yousaf Baloch has been given special directives for recovery of government taxes in terms of rule 133 and 151 of the Customs Rule 2001 with section 202 of the Customs Act 1969.

M/s Carolina Fabrics Pvt Ltd is located at 488 Mumtazabad Vehari Road, Multan area in the jurisdiction of the Collectorate.

It is also pertinent to mention here that the Multan Customs recovery branch has issued several notices to defaulters for payment of their outstanding amount but they have not paid yet.

Assistant Collector Multan Omer Bin Zafar Chatha has directed recovery branch to recover amount from defaulter M/s Carolina Fabrics Pvt Ltd against the non-payment of outstanding duty taxes. Multan Customs is taking strict action for the recovery of default amount from defaulters to meet the assigned revenue task of ongoing fiscal year 2018-19.
