MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement and Compliance (E&C) has released detained consignment of plastic bags after payment of differential duty tax of Rs0.5 million.
According to detail, Customs E&C Multan staff of Anti-Smuggling Organization intercepted a container loaded with foreign origin plastic bags from Sher Shah Multan. Anti-smuggling Organization team received credible information that foreign origin goods will be transported from Dera Ghazi Khan to Multan. Multan Customs alerted anti-smuggling field staff to intercept them and deployed them at Sher Shah Road for strict vigilance and making routine examination of the suspected goods.
During the examination of the loaded goods Customs anti-smuggling staffs intercept the container loaded with foreign Origin plastic bags and asked them to produce the legal documents of the loaded bags.
The driver of the container provided the clearance documents of the imported goods to Customs teams for verification of their goods. Customs team found differential difference during the examination of the imported plastic goods.
The total assessed value of the foreign origin bags were Rs1.5 million and importer have evaded almost Rs 0.5 million duty taxes at the time of clearance of their import consignment. Owner Fida Muhammad son of Bari Dad resident of Quetta paid the taxes to Customs department after seizing consignment. Multan Customs Anti-Smuggling team have released the detained plastic bag consignments of the importer after the payment of evaded tax from importer.
