MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement & Compliance (E&C) has requested Baluchistan Military Police (BMP) to hand over custody of three seized luxury vehicles worth Rs23 million from Dera Ghazi Khan region.
Sources told Customs Today that Multan Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization Dera Ghazi Khan received information that Baluchistan Military Police thwarted attempt of smugglers to transport non-duty paid vehicles in Punjab.
Baluchistan Military Police has impounded three luxurious vehicles during entrance from Border.
Additional Collector Syed Ali Abbas Gardezi has requested Baluchistan Military Police to hand over recently seized vehicles in their custody to take substantive action against smugglers.
Baluchistan Military Police team impounded white Toyota Land Cruiser, Mercedez Benz and Royal Crown car in their action. The value of said vehicle was almost Rs23 million approximately.
Customs anti-smuggling squad Dera Ghazi Khan has also initiated strict vigilance of routes to intercept smuggling in the jurisdiction. Customs teams found that all vehicles were non- tampered and brought into the country clandestine routes.
Baluchistan Military Police has also asked the drivers of the said vehicles to produce documents for proving legal possession of the vehicles, but they failed to present any documents regarding. Baluchistan Military Police (BMP) seized vehicles by framing legal reports under Customs act 1969.
The values of the seized vehicles were almost Rs23 million. Further investigations are still under way.
