Multan Customs seizes 17 trucks loaded with smuggled goods

MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement personnel conducted a grand operation against smuggling in grain market of Multan and seized smuggled goods worth millions of rupees.

According to customs officials, the goods included imported cigarettes, Chinese salt, tobacco, chalia and dry milk.

During the operation, more than 17 trucks loaded with smuggled goods were seized. Some arrests were also made during the operation, customs officials said.

Police and district administration also participated in the operation.

During the operation, strong resistance was faced in the grain market.

On the instructions of the Prime Minister, a grand operation has been carried out against smuggling and no concession will be given to eliminate smuggling, Collector Customs Enforcement Multan said.
