Multan Customs seizes 4000 liters HSD & trailer near Muzaffargarh

MULTAN: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization seized 4000 liters of smuggled High Speed Diesel concealed under tyres during operation near Muzaffargarh.

Sources told Customs Today that Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization received credible information from their source that trailer loaded with tyres coming from Dera Ghazi Khan to Multan has some smuggled goods. Assistant Collector Omer Bin Zafar Chatha formed special team of Anti-Smuggling Organization to intercept the said goods .Anti-smuggling team was comprised of Inspector Ghulam Asghar, Muhammad Yousaf Nadeem and others to take action against smuggled goods.

Anti-smuggling squad started the patrolling of suspected routes and intercepted the suspected 22 wheeler trailer bearing registration number PKS-032 near Turkish Hospital Muzaffargarh which was loaded huge quantity of cut tyres .Customs staff found secret oil tanker which was concealed underneath cut tyres and oil tanker was filled with 4,000 litres High Speed Diesel (HSD) oil and driver was asked to produce import documents of said petroleum products and its trailer.

Driver of said oil tanker failed to produce any legal documents of the said High Speed Diesel and provided a bilty of goods company that he was transporting booked goods. Customs team seized the trailer with 4000 liters HSD and formed seizure report against non-customs paid HSD along with trailer in their action

The net worth of seized HSD Rs600,000 million and value of trailer was almost Rs.5 million. Further Investigations is still under way.
