Multan Customs seizes HSD worth Rs43.5m near Muzaffargarh

MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement has seized smuggled High-Speed Diesel (HSD) worth Rs43.5 million along with vehicle during the anti-smuggling drive near Muzaffargarh.

Sources told Customs Today, the Collectorate under the supervision of Collector Rehmatullah Vistro has made major seizures of 40000 liters High-speed Diesel (HSD) oil. The instant performance is attributed by the Collectorate with a mandate to ensure counter-smuggling of amongst others. The policy of zero-tolerance for smuggling of goods will continue unabated.

Multan Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization Multan Unit teams conducted operation and carried strict vigilance of suspected routes. During examination of routes Anti-Smuggling squads’ teams found suspicious Nissan oil tanker near thermal Power plant Kot Addu Muzaffargarh and asked the said driver to produce import documents of said petroleum products and its oil tanker.

Customs staff found in their examination that oil tanker was filled with 40000 liters of High Speed Diesel Oil. Driver of the oil tanker failed to provide any import documents to Customs anti-smuggling squad for verification and customs teams seized the oil tanker along with 40000 liters of HSD products. The net worth of seized HSD is Rs8.8 million and value of trailer was almost Rs15 million. Further Investigations is still under way.
