During subsequent questioning, Zahid disclosed that the phones were intended for Mujahid and his brother, also named Zahid, both of whom are allegedly involved in smuggling operations. This revelation has raised further concerns regarding smuggling activities in the region.

Collector Customs Multan, Syed Imran Sajjad Bukhari, commented on the success of the operation, stating that the implementation of enhanced screening procedures and the removal of special protocols at the airport have significantly curtailed smuggling activities. He emphasized the effectiveness of the customs team, noting, “Multan Airport is the only airport in Pakistan where we successfully seized mobile phones that had just been launched two days ago.”

The incident highlights ongoing efforts by customs officials to combat smuggling and enforce regulations at the airport. Authorities are expected to continue their vigilance in monitoring and addressing illegal import activities, ensuring compliance with customs laws and protecting the local market from illicit goods.
