Multan Customs seizes smuggled goods worth Rs118.6m in two days

MULTAN: Regional Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan under the guidance of Director Asif Khan Buzdar has seized smuggled goods worth Rs118.6 million various non-duty paid goods during various anti -smuggling operations in the two days of November economic year 2023-24.

According to details, Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan Range Office has started extensive crackdown against Non-duty paid goods in the jurisdiction on the special instructions of Director General Customs Intelligence and Investigation Muhammad Faiz Chadhar.

Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan alerted all field staff and positioned them at strategic points to intercept transportation of smuggled goods in the territory.

Due to continuous surveillance of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan staff smugglers movement in the Multan city along with their adjacent areas were restricted throughout few months. Customs Intelligence Multan has seized the huge quantity of 180,000 sticks of Cigarettes, 5 tons of Skimmed milk powder, 5 tons of betel nuts, 1 ton of cloth and nylon, tyres, Pan Parag of almost 305 Kilograms,35000 liters of HSD and others during their crackdown.

Field Intelligence unit of Multan has also captured huge quantity of blankets during their action. Customs teams also seized shopping bags of 1.6 tons and Cumming seed of 195 Kilograms during crackdown. Customs Intelligence recovered 22 submersible water pumps,10 various branded inverters and one non-customs paid vehicle.

The customs duty assessed on the seized items in the two days action becomes almost Rs.118.6 million.

From all three regions Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan Range Office has seized the overall smuggled goods and vehicles of Rs.118.6 million by creating various seizure cases.
