Multan Customs seizes smuggled High Speed Diesel near DG Khan

MULTAN: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation seized 65000 liters of smuggled High-Speed Diesel (HSD) tactfully hidden in a LPG bowser.

Sources told Customs Today that Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation received credible information from that huge quantity of smuggled High-Speed Diesel will be moved from Quetta region to Multan.

Additional Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Muhammad Saeed Ahmad Wattoo formed special team of Field Intelligence Unit to intercept smuggled High-Speed Diesel. Customs Intelligence team comprises Superintendent Muhammad Mubeen, Inspector Jamil Haider, Inspector Adnan Inyatullah and others to take action against smuggled High-Speed Diesel.

Acting upon the information Field Intelligence Unit of Dera Ghazi Khan started the patrolling of suspected routes to enhance vigilance and intercepted the LPG bowser bearing registration number TLL-286/Quetta. Customs Intelligence found huge quantity of High-Speed Diesel concealed inside the LPG bowser .Customs Intelligence intercepted the High-Speed Diesel. Customs Intelligence staff found during examination that oil tanker was filled with 65000 liters High Speed Diesel (HSD) oil and driver was asked to produce import documents of said petroleum products and its oil tanker.

Driver of said oil tanker failed to produce any legal documents of the said High Speed Diesel and field intelligence unit of Customs team seized the oil tanker with filled HSD and formed seizure report against non-customs paid Oil Tanker.

he net worth of seized HSD Rs6.7million and value of LPG bowser was almost Rs5 million. Further Investigations is still under way.
