Multan Customs impounds goods, vehicles worth Rs 20.732 million

MULTAN: Customs Intelligence and Investigation authorities have seized various articles and vehicles worth Rs 20.732 million during the month of February.

Customs Intelligence seized different smuggled goods, including imported HTV tyres, Iranian tiles, grocery items, garments, crockery along with automobiles and other miscellaneous goods from the Multan region during different raids against smuggled goods in the month of February.

There were five seizure cases involving Rs 9.032 million during different raids. The net customs duty involved in the seized items was almost Rs 5.153 million.

Meanwhile, Customs Intelligence made five seizure cases of goods worth almost Rs 6.6 million in Dera Ghazi Khan in February.

During the extensive anti-smuggling campaigns, customs officials seized four smuggled vehicles including three Toyota Fielders and one Toyota Corolla Xli. The total customs duty and taxes involved in the seizure were almost Rs 6.4 million.
Separately, officials seized various goods and two smuggled vehicles in four cases from the Sadiqabad region. The net value of the seized goods and vehicles was almost Rs 5.1 million.

The items seized in the three regions of Multan Range – Multan, Sadiqabad and Dera Ghazi Khan – mainly consisted of auto parts and vehicles, and involved customs duty and taxes of Rs 15.95 million.

Customs Intelligence Additional Director Nisar Ahmad told Customs Today that they have seized a variety of articles, including smuggled vehicles and goods. Anti-smuggling campaigns against smuggled goods are underway with a mission to curb smuggling in the region.
