MULTAN: The Model Customs Collectorate has issued notices to Pakistan State Oil (PSO) and Shell petroleum for recovery of their arrears.
According to details, the Collectorate of Multan Customs has issued notice for collection of regulatory duty from Pakistan State Oil and Shell Petroleum Company. Both petroleum oil companies are located in the Mehmood Kot which comes under the jurisdiction of Multan Customs.
The Federal Board of Revenue Secretary (Tariff-I) has directed Customs Collectorate to recover the regulatory duty arrears from both companies. The decision for the recovery of regulatory duty from both oil companies were taken in the meeting of Economic Coordination Committee.
Pakistan State Oil has imported High Speed Diesel (HSD) quantity of 198994004 liters through 30 various GDs cleared from Multan Dry Port in and Pakistan State Oil was levied Rs.225.31 million regulatory duty on their oil imports.
The Federal Board of Revenue has also asked Shell Company Mehmood Kot to deposit regulatory duty of Rs.37.69 million to Customs Collectorate for the import clearances of High Speed Diesel Oil. Shell Company Mehmood Kot have handled almost 11 consignments from Multan Dry Port in which they cleared 37698922 liters of High Speed Diesel (HSD) from Multan Dry Port.
The Customs Collectorate Multan already directed by Federal Board of Revenue to recover outstanding dues of Rs.263 million as regulatory duty from Shell and Pakistan State Oil Mehmood Kot.
It is necessary to mention here that Collector Safraz Ahmed Warriach already directed customs field offices to use all resources to recover outstanding amount from defaulters on priority basis.
