Multan Customs taking extra measures to facilitate pilgrims at airport

MULTAN: The Model Customs Collectorate has taken special measures to smooth the process for pilgrims during Hajj operation at Multan International Airport.

Around 11 flights flew from the Multan airport under Hajj operation that started from August 4, 2016, while remaining flights will take off carrying pilgrims in coming days as per schedule.

Multan Customs has made special arrangements to facilitate pilgrims at the airport, as Collector Sarfraz Ahmad Warriach has deputed 42 customs employees to handle the Hajj operation. The strength of officials has been increased in order to tighten the vigilance and facilitate the performers. Deputy Collector Abdul Mueed Kanjoo has been deputed at the airport with major responsibility of Hajj Operations.

Collector Sarfraz Ahmad Warraich directed Deputy Collector Abdul Mueed Kanjoo to ensure proper scanning of every pilgrim in order to prevent smuggling from Multan. The customs and Anti-Narcotics Force are jointly checking the luggage of passengers.

As per details, total 23 flights are scheduled to carry the pilgrims till September 5. Deputy Collector Abdul Mueed Kanjoo is conducting surprise visits at the airport in order to check working of the officials.
