ULTAN: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) has seized smuggled plastic bags worth Rs 2.6 million.
Sources told Customs Today that The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Dera Ghazi Khan field Unit teams received credible information from their source regarding the smuggling of plastic bags. Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Muhammad Asif Khan Buzdar alerted the field intelligence unit to thwart any attempt of smuggling from jurisdiction. Customs Intelligence staff remain vigilant against smuggling activities after the alert of Director and continue to take action against such illegal practices.
Customs Field Intelligence Unit Dera Ghazi stopped two suspected vehicles carrying 40 feet containers that claimed to transport “Wheat and animal feeds ” near Rakni area. However, upon inspection, they found 750 Kilogram of Plastic Shopping bags of Plastic during their examination. Driver of the vehicle presented legal documents to Customs Intelligence and Investigation teams and upon verification Sat Rs 2.6 million, while the vehicles were worth Rs 4.5 million. Customs Intelligence Dera Ghazi Khan field staff unit seized the goods and the vehicles and initiated further proceedings.
