Multan Customs to enhance cooperation with other collectorates to curb smuggling

MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Preventive has decided to enhance cooperation with other collectorates to curb smuggling in the jurisdiction.

Collector Customs Preventive Muhammad Saleem has implemented new strategy of after approval of FBR Chairman Shabbar Zaidi  for strategizing anti-smuggling campaign in coordination with other collectorates to curtail smuggling.

In the line of new strategy Pakistan Customs is going to deploy joint anti-smuggling squads at all crossing points along the bridges on the Indus River for effective interdiction discussed new strategy Collectorate of Customs Preventive will carry out joint monitoring and deployment of anti-smuggling staff for operations at crossing points of Indus River bridge.

Additional Collector Customs Preventive Peshawar jointly visited the key chock points including DIK and Chashma bridge over the Indus river .

There is other no other crossing available for movement of inter-provincial traffic. Sources told Customs today that these two bridges provides inter provincial crossing points for the goods transported from Khyber Pukhtun Khawa (KPK), Sindh, Baluchistan to Punjab for the movement of inter-provincial vehicular traffic. Due to geographical importance of the areas these routes provides strategic advantage for anti-smuggling enforcement and Multan Customs Collectoates has decided to deploy anti-smuggling squad   for joint operations.

Multan Customs Collectorate has also nominated Assistant Collector Syed Jalal Haider Ziadi as focal person for timely exchange of information and joint deployment of squads for Anti-Smuggling Organization for operations and when any coordination required with the officer nominated by MCC Preventive Peshawar.
