MULTAN: The Customs Collectorate has witnessed mild decline in export items from Multan Dry Port due to undesirable economic condition.
Sources told Customs Today, that Multan Dry Port Trust has handled cotton yarn with a volume of Rs33.10 million during the month of September for the existing fiscal year 2017-18. On the other hand, Multan Customs cleared export consignments of cotton yarn with a volume of Rs2785 million in the corresponding month of the fiscal year 2016-17. Cotton yarn is the one of the major export items exported in the bulk quantity from Multan Dry Port to other countries of the world.
Multan Customs has exported local manufactured readymade garments of worth Rs16.84 million in the September and exported fabric cloth of Rs.314.47 million from Multan Dry Port during the month of September 2017-18. While Multan Dry Port exported fabric cloth with a volume of Rs.780 million during the corresponding period of economic year 2016-17.
The Customs Collectorate is contributing handsome revenue in the national economy through export of cotton yarn, garments, textile made-up, leather shoes and other items from Multan Dry Port.

Multan Dry Port handled export shipments of shoes uppers made up of leather and traditional leather goods contain the value of Rs47.316 million during the month of September 2017-18.
While Multan Dry Port were able to cleared shipments of leather goods of worth Rs.327 million during the same period of economic year 2016-17.
It is also necessary to mention here that Multan Customs handled different export shipments of Rs.266.192 million during the September of the existing fiscal year 2017-18.On the other hand Multan Customs handled different consignments of Rs.546 million in the matching period of the Monetary year 2016-17.
Generally Multan Customs exported goods of different items worth Rs.813.73 million during September of economic year 2017-18.While it has shown decrease in the export from corresponding period by exporting goods of worth Rs.4698 million.
