MULTAN: Multan Dry Port wears deserted look after heavy rain. Customs Appraisement Faisalabad employees who are deputed at Multan Dry Port were present to perform their duties but consignments for import and export were not available for handling due to heavy rain in Multan and its surroundings.

The Multan Dry Port has cleared all pending shipments of imports and export on Monday. Due to clearance of all shipments, no consignment was available to handle. The Multan Dry Port Trust was also present on the duty for facilitation of importers and exporters but there was shipment available at Port for clearance.

Importer and exporters informed Customs today that Multan Dry Port was resuming their operational activities but majority of importers and exporters were reluctant to clear their shipment due to bad weather.

Shipment company employees including drivers, laborers were also on half leave due to heavy rain. Employees of Multan Customs who were assigned special duties at Multan Dry Port spent their most of time in chatting. Sources told Customs today that normalcy will return to Multan Dry Port after ease in Covid-19 restrictions when business activities in the industrial and commercial sector will be restored.
