Multan Enforcement collects Rs65.846m during November 2023

MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement has collected Rs65.846 million under the heads of customs duty, sales tax, income tax and Federal Excise Duty (FED) during the month of November for fiscal year 2023-24.        

Sources told Customs Today that Multan Customs has collected Rs60.836 million in wake of customs duty against the assigned collection task of Rs300 million for the month of November2023-24. Multan Customs collected Rs40 million in wake of customs duty during the corresponding period.

Multan Enforcement has attained only 21 percent allocated revenue tasks during month of November due to enhancement of revenue task by the Member Customs.

 Multan Customs Collectorate has collected Rs1.340 million under the head of Sales taxes during month of November in the ongoing fiscal year 2023-24. While Multan Customs collected almost Rs.5.21 million during corresponding period. 

Multan Customs has collected almost Rs.3.748 million Income taxes during November in the financial year 2023-24. In addition to regular/routine collection of duty/taxes, an effective strategy was devised to specially focus on areas to enhance revenue through administrative measures like auction, Anti-smuggling, as well as crediting of seized/confiscated currency into National Bank of Pakistan.  Multan Customs Collectoate has also requested Member Customs to review revenue task and give practical revenue task for the financial year 2023-24.   

Multan Customs Collectorate enforcement is taking firm measures towards expedition of trade and ease of doing customs business, the measures taken on both revenues worked very well and the collectorate was able to achieve the assigned target in all areas besides trade facilitation.       

Several facilitation measures were also undertaken by the collectorate during FY 2023-24 some of which are briefed as the Currency Declaration System (CDS) has been installed at Multan International Airport which is facilitating foreigners.
