Multan Customs officials promptly detained the herbal medicines and initiated an investigation into the matter. The detained items were then handed over to the relevant authorities for further scrutiny and assessment.

Speaking on the issue, Assistant Collector Customs Habib-ur-Rehman emphasized the importance of adhering to regulatory protocols when importing medicinal products into the country. He reiterated that clearance certificates are essential to ensure the safety, quality, and legality of imported goods, especially in the pharmaceutical sector.

The incident serves as a reminder for travelers to familiarize themselves with the relevant import regulations and obtain the necessary documentation before bringing medicinal products into Pakistan.

Failure to comply with these regulations can result in confiscation of goods and potential legal repercussions.

Furthermore, Customs authorities have urged the public to exercise caution when purchasing herbal medicines from abroad and to verify the authenticity of products to avoid falling victim to counterfeit or substandard items.

The Multan Customs department has vowed to continue its efforts to enforce import regulations and safeguard public health and safety. They have called for cooperation from the public in adhering to legal procedures to prevent the illegal importation of goods into the country.

The detained herbal medicines will undergo further evaluation to determine their composition, quality, and compliance with regulatory standards. Depending on the outcome of the investigation, appropriate action will be taken in accordance with the law.
