Multan: Excise Dept collects Rs 892m for Q3 of FY 2014-15, achieves 76pc target

MULTAN: The Excise and Taxation (E&T) Department Multan District has collected Rs 892 million tax at the end of the third quarter of the fiscal year 2014-15 against the total target of Rs 1.332 billion. As a whole it has achieved 76 percent of total allocated target.

The Excise and Taxation Department Multan has collected the revenue of Rs 320 million from the property branch during the third quarter of the existing economic year 2014-15.

During the first nine months of the current business year the E&T property branch has achieved 77 percent target. Property branch sold more than 2000 property, which were failed to pay their due taxes. More than 7,000 final tax notices have been issued in the awake of tax collection during the first nine months.

The property branch has accelerated the tax collection especially in third quarter for the recovery of outstanding taxes from the owners.

The motor branch of E&T department Multan has collected almost Rs 46 million during the first nine months of the current fiscal year. The motor registration branch was assigned the target of Rs 76 million for the first nine months of the present economic year 2014-15. The E&T department has achieved 61 percent of total allocated target.

Excise and taxation department has generated the amount of almost Rs 54.98 million from the collection of excise duties against the target of Rs 67.65 million for the financial year 2014-15. The department has collected the 81 percent of the tax from the excise duties during first nine of the fiscal year 2014-15.

The department has recovered Rs 3.3 million against the target of Rs 4.7 million from the entertainment tax for economic year 2014-15 and achieved 70 percent of the total allocated target.

The professional tax amount of Rs 27 million has been generated by the department so far against the target of Rs 40 million for the present economic year and 68 percent of the set target was achieved.

The E&T department has collected the cotton tax of Rs 20.6 million against the set target of Rs 30 million at the end of the economic year 2014-15 and collected 68 percent target.
