Multan Excise supports Punjab govt decision for 10% increase in property tax

MULTAN: Excise and Taxation department Multan has suggested 10 percent increase in property tax for next fiscal year 2014-15.

As per details, Punjab government is also considering an increase in property tax, while the Multan Excise has also supported this decision.

On the other hand, federal government is also going to impose almost 7 percent withholding tax on the motor vehicles in upcoming budget to increase the revenue collection to run the state business. The federal government will charge the withholding tax on the motor vehicle as lifetime.

It is important to mention here that Excise and Taxation department is also collecting transfer fee on transfer of ownership, while citizens are not transferring their vehicle due to the imposition of transfer fee.
