Multan I&I impounds 13000 litres of HSD near Qadirpur Rawan

MULTAN: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) seized non-customs paid 13,000 liters of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) during operation near Qadirpur Rawan ByPass.

Sources told Customs Today that Customs Intelligence and Investigation received credible information from their source that oil tanker loaded with smuggled High-Speed Diesel will moved from Multan Region to Sahiwal. Additional Director Muhammad Saeed Watto formed special team of field intelligence unit to thwart any attempt of smuggling.

Assistant Director Abdul Qayyum supervised the action of Field Intelligence Unit to intercept smuggled HSD. Field Intelligence Unit team was consisting Inspector Muhammad Saleem, Qaswar Hussain Shah and others. Customs Intelligence squad started patrolling of suspected routes and impounded the suspected oil tanker filled with High-Speed Diesel near fuel agency Dubba Station Khan Restaurant Hotel.

During detailed examination of vehicle, customs Intelligence staff found that oil tanker was filled with 10,000 liters High Speed Diesel (HSD) oil and driver was asked to produce import documents of said High Speed Diesel and its oil tanker.  Driver of said oil tanker failed to produce any legal documents of the said High Speed Diesel and customs team seized the oil tanker with filled HSD and formed seizure report against non-customs paid oil tanker and recovered High Speed Diesel.

The net worth of seized High Speed Diesel of Rs1.450 million and value of oil tanker was almost Rs.700, 000. The net value of seizure was almost Rs2.1 million. Further proceedings are still underway till the filing of this report.
