Multan I&I impounds Hino truck due to violation of import policy

MULTAN: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) seized the Hino truck on violation of import policy during an action.

According to details, Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation received credible information from their informer that Hino truck coming from Dera Ghazi Khan region. Assistant Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Javaid Raza formed special team comprised of Inspector Umar, Inspector Mohsin Raza Shah, Inspector Hafiz Muhammad Younas and others to intercept said truck. Customs I&I team staff started patrolling on the suspected routes.

Field Intelligence Unit of Customs Intelligence intercepted Hino truck bearing registration TKW-422 model 1997 from Sahu Chowk Khanewal Road bypass through coordinated efforts.

Driver Abdul Malik of the Mazda Hino truck was asked to present the original documents to prove its legal identity. During verification of the documents and the physical examination of the Hino truck it found that Used Hino Truck Concrete Transit Mixer Truck was imported by M/s Rehman Construction Shawakshah Road Quetta and transit mixer was converted into cargo authorized which was against import policy order. Customs staff seized said Hino truck along with on violation of the prohibitions and garb concession benefit and sold the truck after removing mixture drums into cargo transportation truck.

The value of the seized Hino truck was almost Rs7 million and the duty taxes on the Hino Truck seized truck was almost Rs.4 million. Customs Intelligence seized said truck by applying law section 3(I) 3 of the imports and export act 1950 punishable clause 89 of section 156(1) of Customs Act, 1969.
