Multan I&I recovers smuggled goods worth Rs190m from last two days

MULTAN: Under the supervision of Director Yasin Murtaza, Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) recovered huge smuggled goods worth Rs190 million from last two days.

Sources told Customs Today that Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation received credible information that huge quantity of smuggled are dumped in a godown owned by notorious smuggler Haji Sadiq. He immediately constituted customs I&I squad under the supervision of Assistant Director Mohammad Ali Asif. The customs team also includes Intelligence Officers Mohammad Asif Jhakkar, Abdul Hameed Bhatti, Zafar Iqbal Khan, Mohsin Farzand Ali and Ansar Saleemi.

Customs Intelligence and Investigation team registered a case of smuggling and further investigations.

It is pertinent to mention here that after taking the charge newly posted Director Yasin Murtaza directed all anti-smuggling squads to adopt zero tolerance policy towards smuggling. He strictly directed that anyone who found involved in smuggling should be dealt with iron hands.
