Multan I&I seizes firecrackers from Lodhran worth Rs2m

MULTAN: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) seized huge quantity of firecrackers from Lodhran of worth Rs2 million in their action.

According to details, Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan Dr. Muhammad Adnan Akram received credible information from his source that a will transport huge quantity of firecrackers has been offloaded near Lodhran Bus stop.

Director Customs Intelligence constituted special squad to carry out action against them which comprised of Inspector Muhammad Umer and others took part in the action of customs Intelligence.

Following the instructions Customs I&I team took special measures and started surveillance of Lodhran Bus stop.

Customs Intelligence team intercepted the suspected goods which were packed in the sacks during their action and recovered huge quantity of firecrackers. Customs teams recovered 2 polythene bags of City fire works, 8 cartons of white rose shoots flaming balls, 4 cartons of shots flaming balls, 2 polythene bags of dynamite sticks,360 roman candles,280 wedding annaar,720 moon light white rose annaar during their examination.

Customs Intelligence asked the goods company to produce legal documents of recovered firecrackers but they failed to produce any import documents of the recovered goods to justify their legal possession.

Customs Intelligence teams seized all recovered  firecrackers during their action by framing seizure report under Customs act 1969.The value of seized firecrackers were almost Rs.2 million. Further Investigation against seized ceramic tiles was still under process.
